  7.      AUP, is designed for an enterprise network computing environment, such as a computer lab
  8. environment.  It forces users to accept a certain policy, The Acceptable Use Policy, which outlines the
  9. policies, and procedures of the institution concerning use of the computers.  If the user does not accept
  10. the policy, it logs the user out.

  14. Installation:

  16.      All files should be place in the same directory, with users having filescan and read
  17.      rights, the files can be hidden if needed. Here is a list of the files you will need:
  18.      Accep.exe   - The actual Program
  19.      Accept.bat  - A small configurable Dos Batch File That runs accep.exe
  20.      Accept.ini   - The configuration file
  21.      Accept.pif   - An optional Settings file
  22.      YourPic.bmp - Your customizable Logo
  23.      Accept.txt  - The actual acceptable use policy, can be named anything.

  25.      The batch file is best called at the end of the system login script.  The Picture and the
  26.      Acceptable use policy are created by you, and can be just about anything you need.

  28. Settings:

  30.      All Of the INI File setting go under a [Config] Heading.
  31.      Policy=   The filename of the acceptable use policy.  It can be either standard Text, or a Rich Text
  32.                Format(.rtf) file created by wordpad( This gives you formatting   options, although I don't
  33.                recommend many text size changes) The file must be stored in the same place as the program.

  35.      Picture=  The filename of the picture that will be placed in the top right of the program. 
  36.                It must be a standard windows bitmap.  It should be placed in the same directory as
  37.                the program.

  39.      KeyType=  This may be one of two options (Key/KeyDir).  Use Key when you just want to place a
  40.                file in a certain directory owned by each user, such as thier mail directory. 
  41.                KeyDir places all files in one directory, named the same as thier username.

  43.      Key=      This is the path and filename of the file to be created for each user.  Such as
  44.                u:\accept.sys.  The file will be created as a Hidden/System file. Note: only used
  45.                when KeyType=Key
  46.  
  47.      KeyDir=   This is the Directory where the common files will be placed.  Each file will be named after
  48.                the user that is logged in.  The file will have Hidden/System attributes.  Ex.
  49.                F:\Public\AUP\ Note: only used when KeyType=KeyDir.

  51.      Title=         This is the Title of the Policy that appears on the Right side of the screen
  52.                     directly under the Logo.  Ex. Acceptable use policy.

  54.      AppTitle= This is the Title of the application as it will appear on the task bar. Ex.
  55.                Acceptable use policy.

  58.      The INI file must be located in the same directory as the accep.exe file.  The Example INI
  59.      file may help in configuration.

  61.      The batch file may need to be altered to change directory, and/or drives, so thet the
  62.      current directory is the directory where the program is.

  65.      I have only tested this on Windows 95 machines, as Far as I know it will not work on
  66.      Windows NT.
